We often study Japanese management methods and organizational structures, yet we tend to overlook their most crucial element: the spirit of craftsmanship. As a production supervisor on the front lines of pharmaceutical manufacturing, I’ve been working in this field for over two years. In my heart, pharmaceutical production is a sacred vocation—a craft imbued with unique artistry and dedication. With the advent of the great era of traditional Chinese medicine, the internet age, and the age of high-tech mechanization and computerization, the mission of pharmaceutical professionals has become increasingly challenging and demanding. To me, the craftsman’s spirit of the new generation of pharmaceutical workers means taking professional dedication as one’s responsibility, pursuing continuous improvement through lean practices, focusing relentlessly on quality, and embracing innovation as the key to the future.

What is professionalism? The Chinese nation has always valued it. “ Dedication and Sociability “” Loyal to one's duty ” The tradition of dedication is a time-honored virtue of the Chinese people and also one of the fundamental requirements of today’s core socialist values. In my view, focus is synonymous with professionalism—a mindset and approach characterized by inner conviction, patient attention to detail, perseverance, and unwavering determination in both work and life. It’s the tenacious resilience required to “sit on the bench for ten years in cold solitude,” enabling us pharmaceutical professionals to maintain a focused and dedicated attitude even when confronted with repetitive tasks and identical processes time after time. “ There is a priority in seeking knowledge; every profession has its specialized expertise. ” Once you’ve chosen to specialize in pharmaceutical development, commit wholeheartedly and focus single-mindedly. What is innovation? The spirit of craftsmanship also encompasses an intrinsic drive for breakthroughs and continuous innovation. Throughout history, artisans who have been passionate about innovation and invention have always been a vital driving force behind global scientific and technological progress.
