yl Recently, Hubei Enoray Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was interviewed by the Hong Kong-based Asia-Pacific correspondent of Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN), a publication in the U.S. pharmaceutical and chemical industry. Jean-François Tremblay an exclusive interview. The magazine is a weekly publication issued by the American Chemical Society. It focuses on the latest developments in the world of chemistry and reports on trends in research, industry, education, and other areas related to chemistry. The magazine is distributed to all members of the American Chemical Society and, as one of the most authoritative publications in the field, wields significant influence within the United States.
The negative impact of the 2008 "Baxter incident" on China's heparin industry continues to this day. This year, a signed letter from the U.S. Congress addressed to FDA Commissioner Robert Califf, as well as a report by the U.S. Congress investigating China’s imports of sodium heparin into the United States, accused the FDA of negligence for failing to prevent substandard Chinese sodium heparin from entering the U.S. Some members of Congress are calling on the FDA to resume importing sodium heparin derived from bovine raw materials from South America and other countries, and to accelerate support for chemically synthesized, fully synthetic sodium heparin, in order to counter the current reliance on sodium heparin sourced from pig small intestines imported from China.
In light of this background, after three months of research—particularly following a visit to Enoray—C&EN’s editor-in-chief ultimately published an article titled “Making Heparin Safe,” which was officially featured as the cover story in the October 10, 2016 issue of Chemical & Engineering News. The full article, spanning 4.5 pages, provided an in-depth report on sodium heparin in China. Despite the ongoing issue of adulteration in the heparin production sector, Chinese companies have already upgraded their processes to meet the stricter regulatory requirements imposed by the U.S. Hubei Enoray Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is the only company that allowed this U.S. professional journalist to conduct an open, comprehensive interview throughout the entire heparin supply chain, thereby reshaping the image of China’s sodium heparin products. This has demonstrated to the world—especially in Europe and the U.S.—the safety and reliability of China’s heparin industry!
