Product Description
Product Introduction: This product is the sodium salt of chondroitin sulfate extracted from the mucosa of pig intestines. It is a mixture composed of glycosaminoglycan chains with varying molecular weights, consisting of α-D- Glucosamine (N-sulfated, O-sulfated, or N-acetylated) and O-sulfated uronic acids (α-L-iduronic acid or β-D-glucuronic acid) are alternately linked to form a polymer that prolongs blood coagulation time. Calculated on a dried basis, each 1 mg of the product shall have an anti-factor IIa activity of not less than 180 potency units, and the ratio of anti-factor Xa activity to anti-factor IIa activity shall be between 0.9 and 1.1.
This product is a white to off-white powder with strong hygroscopic properties. It is insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone, but readily soluble in water. The molecule is acidic and carries multiple negative charges; it can react with cations to form salts. Its average molecular weight ranges from 15,000 to 19,000.
