Product Description

Product Overview: Heparin sodium crude product is the sodium salt of sulfated glycosaminoglycan extracted from the mucosa of pig small intestines. Through steps such as dissociation and heparin separation and purification, it can be further processed into novel anticoagulant drugs in the low-molecular-weight heparin sodium class, which exhibit anticoagulant and antithrombotic effects. Heparin sodium crude product is a general term for a mixture of acidic mucopolysaccharides with varying molecular weights. It consists of linear chain molecules composed of repeating units of hexasaccharides or octasaccharides, with molecular weights ranging from 3,000 to 30,000, and an average molecular weight of approximately 15,000.

This product appears as solid particles or powder in yellow, brown, gray, or similar colors. It is insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone, but readily soluble in water. The molecule is acidic and exhibits polyanionic characteristics; it can react with cations to form salts.
